A two-day programme organized at SGIDT under Swachhta Pakhwara Abhiyan
A 2-days programme was successfully organized to commemorate swachchhata abhiyan pakhwara at SGIDT, Patna for making the institute plastic free. All the faculty members, staffs and students of the institute overwhelmingly participated in the programme. The drive was started at 3 pm on 26 October 2016 by the Dean of the faculty Dr. S.B. Verma and continued till the evening of 27.10.2016. He apprised the participants about the objective of this abhiyan and asked them take a resolution to discard the use of plastics as much as possible.
All the faculty members, staffs and students actively participated in the procession, which was organized to create awareness among the participants and people about the importance of cleanliness and vagaries caused by the plastic and plastic wastes. After procession, all the participants cleaned the institute, hostel and its vicinity using broom-sticks. Plastic remains and wastes were picked up and old and unuseful papers were also weeded out.
SGIDT Students Celebrated Teacher’s Day
Students of SGIDT, Patna celebrated Teacher’s Day on September 5, 2016 with great fervour and zeal. The programme was organized by the students of B. Tech. (D.T.) programme in the conference room of the institute under the aegis of cultural society of the institute. After felicitating the Dean Dr S.B. Verma and the teachers of SGIDT, students of the institute presented a diverse range of cultural events. Some of the performances by the students were quite mesmerising. The programme was well appreciated and successful.
Rotary Patna Felicitated Faculties of SGIDT
Rotary Patna Mid Town felicitated two faculties, D M. N. Singh, University Professor and Head, Dairy Technology; and Dr Awadhesh K Jha, Assistant Professor and Head (I/C), Dairy Business Management of SGIDT on the occasion of Teacher’s day, 2016 along with a number of teachers from other universities, schools and institutions at Bankipur Club, Patna in the presence of luminaries from academia, civil administration, politics, media, etc. Dr Awadhesh K Jha could not attend the function as he was to receive the best teacher award of institute at BAU, Sabour in Bhagalpur.
Best Teacher Award 2016 for the institute conferred to Dr Awadhesh K Jha
The Best Teacher Award started by the Bihar Agricultural University, Bhagalpur to recognize and felicitate the best teacher of the year from its various colleges & institute for the year 2015-16 was declared. Dr Awadhesh K Jha, Assistant Professor, Dairy Business Management was declared the best teacher of SGIDT, Patna for the year 2015-16. Dr Jha, was felicitated by Dr. A. K. Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, in the auditorium of BAU Sabour on 5th September (Teacher’s Day) 2016. The award includes a Medal, a certificate and Rs 11,000.00.
Airtel Radio Mirchi Youth Festival Season-6 Organized at SGIDT
The Cultural Society of SGIDT Patna organized ‘Airtel Radio Mirchi Youth Festival (MYF) Season-6’ on 8th September 2016. MYF is the hottest Youth Festival of Bihar for the last five years, which provides a unique platform to the participating youth to showcase their talents before thousands of spectators and VIPs from the government, administration, media etc. The Radio Mirchi has selected 23 institutions/ colleges of Bihar of which Sanjay Gandhi Institute is one. The representatives and organizing team of Radio Mirchi prepared the set in a hall in Block-2 of the institute and took the audition of the students of the B. Tech. (D.T.) programme. The students were registered for the events like Music, Dance and Fashion (Youth full) and instant selections were made for stage-II of the competition. A number of students participated in the MYF and gave rocking performance in singing, dance and drama. Some of the performances were highly appreciated and three students, namely Ms Sakshi Kumari (singing), Ms Sweta Pandit (dance), Md Merazuddin (singing) were selected for the next round of the competition.
